Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2026
This policy explains what Harrow & Sons ("we", "us") collects when you visit harrowandsons.com or buy from us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to hello@harrowandsons.com.
What we collect
When you order. Your name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, the name you ask us to engrave, and your payment details. Payment details go straight to our payment processor (Shopify Payments, PayPal, or the wallet you choose); we never see or store your full card number.
When you browse. Your device's IP address, browser type, time zone, the pages you view, what brought you to the site, and how you interact with it. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
When you write to us or sign up. Your email address and whatever you include in the message. If you subscribe to our emails, your address and which emails you open.
What we use it for
- To make, engrave and ship your board, and to send you order and shipping updates.
- To answer your questions and handle returns, replacements and the two-year guarantee.
- To screen orders for fraud.
- To send you emails about Harrow & Sons if you've subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how people use the site and show you relevant ads on other platforms (see Advertising below).
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with companies that help us run the store, and only what they need:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders. Shopify's own privacy policy applies to the data it handles: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
- Payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay) to take payment.
- Our workshop and carriers receive your name, address, phone number and the engraving text, so the board can be made and delivered.
- Email service to send order updates and, if you've subscribed, our newsletter.
- Analytics and advertising platforms such as Google and Meta, as described below.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and pixels from Shopify, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). They let the site work (cart, checkout), tell us which pages and ads bring people here, and let us show Harrow & Sons ads to people who've visited the site.
You can control this:
- Our cookie banner lets you decline non-essential cookies.
- Browser settings let you block or delete cookies; the cart and checkout need essential cookies to work.
- Meta: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
- Google: https://www.google.com/settings/ads
- Opt out of interest-based ads generally: https://optout.aboutads.info
We don't respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because there is no agreed standard for them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally seven years. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- ask us not to use it for marketing or to share it for advertising;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined by California law and similar state laws. We don't sell personal information for money; some advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under those laws, and you can opt out through the cookie banner or the links above.
To exercise any of these, email hello@harrowandsons.com. We'll confirm your identity, then respond within 45 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws: the rights above apply to you, and you may appeal our decision by replying to our response.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Security
Checkout and account pages are encrypted (TLS). Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil and support your order. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as the law requires.
International transfers
Harrow & Sons sells in the United States. Our store is hosted by Shopify and our boards are made in a partner workshop outside the US, so the information needed to make and deliver your order may be processed outside the country where you live, under contracts that require it to be protected.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes and, for significant changes, we'll post a notice on the site.
